    Great personal laptop

The description mentions gaming, but I’d think of this more as a high-end personal laptop than a low-end gaming laptop. The 1TB hard drive is a major plus, especially with how much space Windows 10 takes up these days. It has a sturdy build and good size, but don’t expect to be able to chuck it around. I like the placement of the keys because they don’t have the little gaps that food and dust can get in. The touchscreen is great, but if you use it a lot you’ll have to regularly clean it. The screen bends back all the way, but this is more of a gimmick because the keys are exposed if you want to use it tablet-style. Overall, a high-quality, easy to use laptop with few drawbacks.

    Great Laptop

Got this for home use and to run marine navigation software on. So far it has been great. Easy set up getting started, a little weird not having a CD-ROM but you can find almost everything you need online. Will probably invest in an external drive to load some other older software. Luckily I had all of my nav software already on an external drive. Had some issues getting the USB GPS to work but finally got the right drivers. Love the 17″ screen and full number keypad. Page up/page down and arrow buttons could be a little bigger and more prominent for me but getting used to it. So far extremely satisfied with my purchase.

    Be sure to update.

This machine stayed on the shelf after it was built and there were a few rounds up updates to complete. The computer turned off during use at one point which required a reboot and immediately upgrading the BIOS. Dell provides an app as well as an easy to use site to get what you need.

The screen is suitable for gaming and movie watching for long periods, suitable sound quality for built in speakers. Because of this the machine is heavy for a two in one. It sometimes helps to just use a mouse instead of pointing. The power and storage along with the screen size make this overall a good purchase for the price.

Structural good and study. Not so with running.

I bought this laptop a couple of months ago and within a few days it started acting up. For a start it would take in excess of 20 mins for me to able to log in and use it. That worsened over time to until last wk when it took close to an hour after switch on to be able to run my programs. This includes the time am signing in.
For some reason the laptop is very slow when it comes to loading it’s kernel. This has slightly improved since yesterday when the system (or Dell) automatically carried out a “hard-disk repair”.

The sound system has issues with constant “electronic noise/interference” in the speakers. This started just over a month after I bought it and has persisted. And the phone mirroring function doesn’t work that efficiently.

The fan is also very noisy for this size of a laptop. I can’t comfortably study with it running. Most laptops are far more quieter.

The hardware it self is very sturdy, sleek and the touch screen works perfectly. Screen imagery is also excellent. Dell have done a good job on these.

But at the end we need a good combination of operating system and hardware. Am also curios to know whether the anti-virus might be a source of some of these problems that relate to efficient loading/running of the operating system. I use Mc-Afee and planning to replace it and see if some of this might get better. I’d love to know what antivirus those experiencing related issues are running.

    Best laptop purchase

I do not understand why the trend is to go smaller with the screen/laptop size. This is amazing. I can have two windows open, which makes all the difference when drafting documents.

Zero complaints. Works well, has been reliable so far. Is a little heavier, but not as heavy as you’d think with this giant screen.

I use this for word processing, research, and email – don’t know anything about it’s video quality or need to use it to run big programs or anything. It’s just my work laptop, and I love it for that purpose.

I love the idea that it can be folded over and be a tablet, but honestly for my purposes it’s kind of irrelevant. But it’s a fun idea and I like that when traveling or lounging it might be useful sometime.

Great for graphics or architectural design as well as reading and editing music.
What many don’t get is that you pay for screen real estate ergonomics constantly hour after hour. To get it from one place to another in comparison….not that long. For high level engineering, graphics and architectural design and/or reading and editing music on the road where you don’t have a second monitor this 2-in-1 is really the choice. Now for John Q maybe not so much…, squint on.
Battery life, speed, stability of OS (yea it’s still Windows) all okay. Visual ergonomics outstanding. Portability for what you get in return 5 also.

Awesome with respect to the price!

I like very much everything about the laptop. The only main lack is its hard drive, which is HDD and not SSD, This was acceptable for me because the price was lower and I needed 1 TB hard with core i7 for the cpu. There are some small issues. First, it is not easy to open the lid. I believe the reason is bc the screen is going to open more than 180 degree and be used as a stand in tablet mode. But still they need to come with an idea to remove this issue. The second issue is the touch sometimes does not work as accurate as I expect and I should redo touching couple times to perform my command. I have never had touch laptop before so, I do not know if it is same for all touch laptop or not. And the last issue is it seems the cooling fan is not enough when I run heavy simulations. So, I have to use a cool pad these times.
But the bottom line is I really enjoy the laptop bc of the size of screen, the screen resolution, its touch capability in general, the stylish shape, the power of cpu and integrated graphic drive, and its high volume hard drive and finally its decent price.

Fast, qulity product. Enormous hard drive & memory

I was running Windows 10 with Office 2013 and a bunch of other memory hungry apps on an underpowered low priced Dell machine I bought in 2014. It was so, so slow and frustrating. Now, I am thrilled by this powerful new computer’s speed. With the computer, I opted to take advantage of the discount on Office 365 even though I owned Office 2013. I have a desktop and another laptop my wife sometimes uses so getting Office 365 made sense to me because it facilitates up to five devices – installation on the other computers was seamless and I now have the convenience of accessing Office 365 apps and OneDrive files on my other computers which gives me the flexibility to compute from anywhere at any time in my home.
